Haslemere Coat of Arms 2006

Haslemere Town Hall, Surrey

The Coat of Arms includes the waves for Waverley, the hind heads for Hindhead, hazel leaves for Haslemere and the acorn for Surrey. The gold and pink represent the gorse and heather found locally, and the motto roughly translates as ‘Life Springs from the Arts’.

I designed a border of hazel leaves and included images of the Town hall when it was built in 1814 and when it was restored in 2006.

“Everyone was thrilled with the window, I would say ‘gob smacked’ even, which I suspected would be the case having seen your other work,” Michael Dover in Haslemere.
